A permanent 12Vdc supply is required to operate the RTE-IR, and provide all its functions.
The relay/timer may be used to control a locking device directly from the unit, or as a standard exit button trigger – explanation as below:
Fail-safe locking device – use COM and NC to break one leg of the supply to the fail-safe device when the RTE-IR is operated. Use the relay timer to
adjust how long the relay will activate.
Fail-secure locking device – use COM and NO to apply one leg of the supply to the fail-secure device when the RTE-IR is operated. Use the relay timer
to adjust how long the relay will activate.
Exit/Open trigger – use COM and NO to provide a momentary short to the exit/open trigger when the RTE-IR is operated. Use the relay timer to adjust
to minimum relay time
** Note: Do not face the infrared sensor directly into sunlight, as this will affect the performance of the unit.
